Iowa Central rolls past Coffeyville

The 12th-ranked Iowa Central football team moved to 2-1 on the year with a convincing 45-17 victory over Coffeyville Saturday at Dodger Stadium.

Demarcus Irons accounted for over 300 total yards and four passing touchdowns, hitting Brandon Tukes, Tanarious Achan, Jason Young and Rashad Witty on scoring strikes. Witty also returned a punt for a touchdown.

On special teams, Colin Swygman kicked through a 34-yard field goal and was 5-for-5 on extra-point attempts.

In the end of the first half, Irons found Young in the back of the end zone on a hail mary throw, giving the Tritons a 21-3 lead at the break.

Arthur Brantley played in the second half, rushing for a team-high 88 yards. Irons added 82 and threw for 236. Achan had five receptions for 66 yards and Witty had over 130 total yards from scrimmage.

Luke Chuol, Kalen Burt and Lamont Bishop all had a sack for the defense, with Brandt Casey recovering a fumble.

Iowa Central hits the road for three consecutive Saturdays, playing at College of DuPage in Illinois next week followed by Snow in Utah and Highland in Kansas.
