Pablo Rodriguez will enter his seventh season with the Iowa Central men’s soccer team. Coach Rodriguez spent his first six seasons with Iowa Central as an assistant coach.
He was born in Uruguay and moved to the United States at the age of eight. He started playing soccer in Uruguay at the age of six and continued to play after he arrived in the U.S. Raised in New Jersey, Rodriguez played most of his youth career for the Union Lancers where he played with American soccer legend and former national team captain Claudio Reyna.
He also played with the Los Angeles Galaxy’s Greg Berhaulter. While with the Lancers he traveled all over the world to play soccer in Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and Peru.
After graduation from Elizabeth High School in N.J., he received a scholarship to play at Tusculum College in Tennessee. At Tusculum he was an All-Conference selection before an injury ended his career. Rodriguez received a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Rutgers University. He also has his Iowa Coaching Authorization as well as his USSF Class “D” Coaching License.
He lives in Fort Dodge with his wife Laura and daughter Manuela.
