Coach Thor comes to Iowa Central after building Eastern Florida into a national power. Prior to his arrival, EFSC won just three matches in two years. In his first year the Titans went 10-9 followed by a 20-9 campaign that saw both men's and women's teams achieve top 10 national rankings, and included a runner-up finish at the ITA National Championships.

"I am honored to be leading Triton Tennis and want to thank Rick Sandquist, Tom Beneke, and Dr. Dan Kinney for the tremendous opportunity to serve at an institution as rich in tradition and values as Iowa Central.

I look forward to returning to the Midwest and building a program that pursues excellence on the court and in the classroom, while serving the wonderful Fort Dodge community. I am excited to begin working with the bright young men and women here and help them achieve their goals in college and in life," said Coach Thor.

Thor arrived at EFSC after leading Niagara University, an NCAA DI institution in New York, to its best finish in a decade. Prior to NU, he spent three seasons as the head coach at Seward County Community College, an NJCAA program in Liberal, Kansas. Thor put Seward tennis on the map, guiding the Saints to several school records and coaching his top men’s doubles team to the school's first ever ITA National Championship. During his time there, Thor recruited five All-Americans and the ITA Male and Female National Freshman of the Year.

Thor played collegiate tennis at Moraine Valley Community College in Palos Hills, Illinois. He helped Moraine Valley to two Skyway Conference titles and two Region IV titles, while earning First Team All-Conference and Region IV selections as a freshman and sophomore. He twice competed at the NJCAA National Championships in Plano, TX, where Moraine Valley finished ranked among the top 20 in the nation. He was also an NJCAA Academic All-American and ITA Scholar-Athlete, and in 2015 was inducted into the college's Alumni Hall of Fame.

Following his playing career at Moraine Valley, Thor attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where he graduated with a degree in Finance. He earned a master's degree in Coaching & Athletic Administration from Concordia University Irvine and is a PTR Certified Tennis Professional.

Thor and his wife Veronica were married in 2012 and are originally from Chicago.
