The Triton Track and Field team competed in two meets this weekend, as the distance runners were in La Crosse, Wisconsin at the Phil Esten Challenge while the other Tritons were in Terre Haute, Indiana at the Indiana State Pacesetter Sports Invitational.
Top performances at UW-La Crosse included winning peformances by Eleonora Curtabbi in the 800 Meter Run (2:17.65), Awet Yohannes in the 800 Meter Run (1:52.685), and Noah Bundrock in the 5000 Meter Run (15:42.372).
At the Pacesetter Sports Invitational the Tritons had New Qualifying marks in 4 events. Kris Brown in the 100 Meter Dash (which was the 5th fastest time in school history), Demetrius Lassiter in the 100 Meter Dash (which was the 10th fastest time in school history), Pehmelo Matlhabe in the 200 Meter Dash, and Zavante Chichester in the 110 Meter High Hurdles.
Other notable performances included Lea Grady's 2nd place Shot Put with a distance of 15.26m (2nd furthest in school history), Tricee Beelen's Shot Put with a distance of 12.65m (9th furthest in school history), Courtney Lindsey's time of 10.23 in the 100 Meter Dash (2nd fastest in school history), David Dunlap's time of 21.05 in the 200 Meter Dash (9th fastest in school history), the Men's winning 4 x 100 Meter Relay team of Kris Brown, David Dunlap, Phemelo Matlhabe, and Courtney Lindsey in 40.49, which was a new meet record and 7th fastest time in school history, and Caden Fenchel's Discus throw (49.56m), which was the 4th furthest in school history.
The Tritons return to action this weekend at the Drake Relays.
