Egan and Kaeo Reach All-American status

Fort Dodge, IA- Alexis Egan and Kama Kaeo were both named All-Americans at the end of their freshmen year. Egan was named NFCA 1st Team and NJCAA 3rd Team while Kaeo was an NFCA 2nd Team All-American. Both are returning for their sophomore year and look to be leaders this upcoming season. Coach Sandquist had high praise about both athletes, "Both Alexis and Kama are not just great athletes but great people. They had well deserved tremendous freshmen year. I look forward to their future of this team and know that they are both working hard to have even better sophomore years."

Egan led the nation in stolen bases this season with 73, which tied Morgan Allee's school record from 2012. A freshman from Sterling, Colorado, Egan recorded 102 hits (second-best nationally and second best in school history). Egan batted a .490 average on the season (fourth best in school history) and had on-base and slugging percentages above .500. Egan scored 59 times and batted in teammates for 25 runs.

Kaeo comes to Fort Dodge from Waianae, Hawaii. A freshman, Kaeo had an immediate impact at the plate for the Tritons. Kaeo recorded 83 hits and 63 runs. Her 76 runs batted in was sixth best in NJCAA Division II softball this season and fourth best in school history. Other impressive statistics for Kaeo include 13 home runs, 146 total bases, and 33 stolen bases.
