Due to the continuous snow and terrible weather conditions the Tritons were not able to play in Concordia, Kansas as scheduled. However, they did not let the weather stop them from finding a pair of games in the Irish Sports Dome in Eagan, Minnesota this past Sunday. The Tritons faced off with the Southeast Nebraska Stormers at 6:00 am for Game one of the double-header. The Tritons' took the lead in the third inning with Bre Tjebben's RBI double. The stormers took the lead with a two-run homer in the 4th inning and that score stood as the Tritons lost game one 2-1. Kallie Malloy pitched 7 innings with 14 strikeouts and only allowed 3 hits and only three baserunners in the losing matter.
Game 2 saw the Tritons came back with a vengeance scoring 25 runs to attain a 25-2 victory. Game 2 saw the Tritons' bats come alive with pounding out 26 hits. Cheyenne Andersen, Lauren James and Payton Anderson led the attack each having four hits; Bre Tjebben and Gabi Bingham having three hits and Parker Mathews, Sophia Cave and Jenna Peschel with two hits a piece.. Cheyenne Andersen, Sophia Cave and Jenna Peschel all added homeruns in the convincing victory. The pitching staff for the Tritons shut down the Stormers with Alex Boyce, Bre Small, and Bre Tjebben all pitching in the shortened 5 inning game. Alex Boyce was credited with the win. The Tritons are now 7-3 on the season and play Sunday, March 10th down in Ottawa, Kansas for a doubleheader starting at noon.
