Sabah Dickerson will be entering her second season as the assistant women’s basketball coach at Iowa Central. Dickerson assisted the Tritons to an overall record of 18-13, an ICCAC record of 8-8, and a fifth seed in the Region XI tournament in which, the Tritons advanced to the semi-final matchup during the 2018-19 campaign. The Tritons had three ICCAC All-Region selections: Brittany West – 1st Team, Avery Terwilliger – 2nd Team, and Shariah Smith – 3rd Team. Iowa Central also had seven named to the All-Academic team this season and an NJCAA All-American 2nd Team selection, Brittany West.
Dickerson manages the daily basketball operations, recruiting database, team managers, ICCC WBB social media content, and team apparel/equipment. Dickerson comes to Fort Dodge from Upper Iowa University. From 2016-18, Dickerson served as a graduate assistant for the Peacocks women’s basketball and lacrosse programs, where she was directly responsible for supporting the operational needs of each program. She assisted in the recruitment of student-athletes, coordinated team travel plans, and served within the Upper Iowa Athletic Department as needed.
Prior to Upper Iowa, Dickerson coached for Jacksonville Basketball Academy (FL) and served at Campbell University as the women’s basketball graduate manager. The Lady Camels recorded at least 18 wins each season and advanced to the Big South Semifinals each season. Dickerson completed two seasons as a walk-on sprinter for the Campbell women’s track and field program.
The Baltimore, Maryland native received a Bachelor of Science (2012) and a Master of Education (2015) from Campbell. She received a Master of Sport Administration from Upper Iowa in 2018. Dickerson is also a member of the WBCA, WeCoach, and was selected as a mentee for the 2018 USA Basketball Women in the Game program.
In addition to her coaching duties, Dickerson also serves as a housing coordinator for the Tritons. She resides in Fort Dodge.
