The Iowa Central volleyball team will make a familiar drive to Cedar Rapids for the NJCAA Div. II Championships, which take place April 13-15 in Cedar Rapids from the Alliant Energy PowerHouse Arena.
The Tritons (19-3 overall) were named the No. 3 seed for the event, taking on Carl Sandburg in the opening round next Tuesday at 9 a.m.
Iowa Central, ranked third in the nation, claimed the ICCAC regular season title for a third consecutive season and won the Region XI-A Tournament to punch the sixth bid to nationals in program history, and first since 2017.
Illinois Central was given the No. 1 overall seed with Parkland the No. 2 seed. Fellow ICCAC rival Kirkwood won the Region XI-B Tournament and district championships to advance, earning the fifth-seed.
The Chargers (10-8) won the Midwest B District Championship over Triton to advance
The winner between Iowa Central and Carl Sandburg takes on either Catawba Valley or North Platte in the quarterfinals.
