Tritons Place First at Tori Neubauer Invite; Cohen Finishes 1st Overall

Tori Neubauer Invitational Results

 The Iowa Central Community College women's cross country team, ranked 1st in this week's U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Poll, placed first at the 24th running of the Tori Neubauer Invitational Saturday at Ettrick Golf Club.  The Tritons finished with 53 points while host Wisconsin-La Cross placed 2nd with 58 points.  

Nebraska Wesleyan University placed third Saturday with 117 points while the University of Minnesota was fourth with 133.  UW-River Falls finished fifth with 147 points, followed by Gustavus Adolphus College, Minn. (165), Bethel University, Minn. (171), Grinnell College, Iowa (243), Macalester University, Minn. (265), and Luther College, Iowa (272) to round out the top-10.  A total of 21 teams competed.

Iowa Central's Adva Cohen continued her dominance on Saturday, winning the 6,000-meter course with a time of 21:24.  Agnes Mansaray finished 5th with a time of 22:20, Marion Bartilol finished 8th with a time of 22:26, Aaliyah Regg Wajid finished 16th with a time of 22:50, Katy Pfile finished 23rd with a time of 23:03, Abeba Sullivan finished 31st with a time of 23:17, and Marta Lukijaniuk finished 33rd with a time of 23:17. 

"We came prepared to run today despite the cold, rain and mud. Our women have never won this meet so it was quite thrilling to see our small team beat all these four-year schools that have very talented and deep squads," said Coach Dee Brown.

The Tritons return to action Sunday, October 29th at the Region XI Championships in Fort Dodge.
