Iowa Central second baseman Cooper Nicholson was recently named the ICCAC 2024 player of the year.
In conference play, Nicholson, a freshman, led the league in hits (46), home runs (14), and total bases (103), while he was second in slugging percentage (.798). Nicholson hit .357 with 42 RBI, and 46 runs scored. Out in the field, he made 47 putouts in 113 total chances and committed 10 double plays throughout the season.
Overall, his 20 home runs this season are tied for second-most in the country, while he is top 5 in runs (76, third) and total bases (156, fifth).
