Three Tritons Earn ICCAC Athlete of the Week Honors

George McIntyre – Iowa Central – Sophomore – Shortstop
A .571 batting average and four home runs this past week for George McIntyre earned him Athlete of the Week honors. In seven games, McIntyre went 12-for-21 with one double, eight RBIs, 14 runs, seven walks and two stolen bases. His best game of the seven was a 12-6 win over Southwestern, where McIntyre went 4-for-5 and drove in three runs while scoring three himself in addition to his two home runs. Another notable performance – he went 2-for-2 in an 18-0 win over North Central Missouri. McIntyre leads ICCAC DII in home runs (12), RBI (34), total bases (74), runs (40) and slugging percentage (1.104) as the league heads into conference play this weekend.

Maddox Sullivan – Iowa Central – Sophomore – Starting Pitcher
Maddox Sullivan pitched one complete five-inning game this past week, giving up zero runs, two hits and a single walk. In an 11-0 win over Dakota County (Minn.), Sullivan struck out nine to shut down the Blue Knights and lift the Tritons to win No. 18 of the season. Sullivan now has three wins in five appearances for Iowa Central with an earned run average of 1.06 so far this season.

Natalie Rasmussen – Iowa Central – Sophomore – Shortstop
It was a busy week again for Natalie Rasmussen of Iowa Central – earning her second straight ICCAC Athlete of the Week honor. In total for the Tritons' week in Florida, over eight games, Rasmussen batted .667 two doubles, a triple, five home runs, 15 RBIs, 16 runs, five walks and six stolen bases. Rasmussen started the eight games off with a bang, going a perfect 4-for-4, with half of those hits going for home runs as she scored four runs total to beat Miles (Mont.) 14-4. So far this season, Rasmussen leads ICCAC DII in runs (34), home runs (9) and slugging percentage (1.083).
