ICCAC Athlete of the Week Honors for Two Tritons

Marcellus Chandler – Iowa Central – Sophomore – Kick Returner
With Iowa Central trailing 14-0 early to Hutchinson, return man Marcellus Chandler was asked to spark his team. He answered in a big way, returning a kickoff 98 yards for a touchdown to cut into the deficit. Chandler finished the day with 143 total return yards. Iowa Central rallied to tie the game at 14 before ultimately falling 31-17. The Tritons now shift their focus to another highly ranked test on the road against No. 2 Iowa Western this Saturday.

Saad Rifi Loutfi – Iowa Central – Freshman
Iowa Central freshman Saad Rifi Loutfi continued his breakout season with his best performance yet at the Greeno/Dirksen Invitational. He covered the 8K course in 24:53.42, placing 13th out of 315 runners overall. He was the second-highest finisher among all non-NCAA Division I athletes and the top finisher from the NJCAA field. Rifi Loutfi will be back in action on Oct. 4 at the Chili Pepper Festival hosted by the University of Arkansas.
