Mason Denholm enters his second season as the head coach at Iowa Central. In Denholm’s first season the Tritons finished 28-8 and made their first trip to the national tournament since 2012. While at the National Tournament Denholm led the Tritons to the school's first ever Final Four, Denholm was named the North Central District Coach of the Year. The 25-26 team saw five players earn All-Region recognition, (three first team selections, one second team, and one honorable mention), an all defensive team selection, as well as the player of the year in Jordan Cain.  Iowa Central also had two All-Americans following the season with Jordan Cain being a 1st Team All-American and Aleix Sempere being a 3rd Team All-American. The Tritons were ranked for the entire year never as low as 13 and reached the top 5.
 
Prior to being the head coach, Denholm served one season as the Tritons assistant in the 2024-25 season. Denholm helped the Tritons finish 20-12 (a 13 win improvement from the 23-24 season) and reach the Region XI tournament title game. The 24-25 season saw the Tritons beat two top five teams and reach as high as #25 in the country. In 24-25 the Tritons led the ICCAC in turnovers forced (16.6) and steals per game (9.6). He helped recruit and sign two all region players in year one.
 
Denholm came from NCAA DII Wayne State College in Wayne, Nebraska where he served as an assistant for the 2022-24. While at Wayne State he was a part of a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) South Division title in the 2022-23 season. The 22-23 team featured two All-Conference selections and one All-American selection. Prior to the 2023-24 season, Denholm recruited a junior college All-American to Wayne State, Trey Deveaux, where he was named an All NSIC selection following his junior campaign. During the 2023-24, Wayne State led the NSIC in turnovers forced per game (12.3) and steals per game (6.97) while ranking second in turnover margin (2.27) and scoring defense (67.9). 
 
Prior to Wayne State, Denholm was the lead assistant at NAIA Grand View University from 2019-2022. In the 2021-22 season, he helped Grand View make the NAIA National Tournament after being picked 12th in the Heart of America preseason coaches poll. Over his time at Grand View, he recruited one All-American and five All-Conference players. He also was the graduate assistant at Grand View from 2017-19.
Denholm attended Grand View where he played men’s basketball and was a part of the 2016-17 NAIA National tournament team. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in business management in 2017 and earned his master’s degree in sport management in 2018. Mason and his wife Emiy reside in Fort Dodge with their children (Willow and Landon).
