With their win total of the 2024 season already eclipsed, a 5-0 start is exactly the way Triton Head Coach, Pablo Rodriguez, was hoping their season would start.

"It's great that we've won the first five games of our season," said Rodriguez. "The guys worked very hard building up to the start of the season and it has really showed in our play thus far."

With four of their first five games played at home on their new turf facility, the Tritons opened with a convincing 6-0 win over Riverland Community College to kick off the season on August 21 in front of a home crowd. They've since added victories over State Fair (2-1), Kankakee (2-1), Marshalltown (3-2) and Minnesota West (4-0).

"There is no better way to start a season than with a win," said Rodriguez. "As always, there are things to work on, but a great start. We've played well and will continue to get better as the season progresses. Regardless of wins or losses."

Leading the way for the Tritons is freshman, Enzo Joly, with five goals, along with fellow freshman, Vito Salvatore Callaci, with four goals and four assists.

"We know that we are in the number one region in the country with four teams being ranked in the top-20," said Rodriguez on the upcoming conference play. "We are realistic about what is in front of us, but going into conference play with so many wins definitely gives confidence to our guys to keep defending."

Up next for the Tritons is a matchup with Dakota County on Tuesday, September 9th at the Ames Soccer Complex in Rosemount, MN. Conference play begins on Saturday, September 20th with a matchup vs. 2024 National Champion, #5 Northeast Community College in Norfolk, NE.
