ICCAC Coach of the Year Honors for Tjebben

Following a record-breaking season that saw a top-8 finish in the NJCAA DII Softball World Series, Triton Softball Head Coach, Bo Tjebben has been named the ICCAC Conference Coach of the Year. Tjebben led the Tritons to a 49-12 record and a second-place finish in the ICCAC. The second-place finish is only the second time since 2013 that DMACC and Kirkwood have not finished first and second.

"To say I was honored to receive the ICCAC Coach of the Year Award is an understatement. I owe it to my players and coaching staff who've been absolutely amazing," said Tjebben. "Coach Cass (Tjebben) is the best at what she does with our pitchers, Coach Bill (Myers) and Coach Bre (Hiracheta) help out in many different ways, whether with hitting or fielding. They all bring value, support, positive attitudes, and motivation to our team."

Coach Tjebben has been with the Tritons for ten seasons and has a 186-105-1 record in his five seasons as the head coach. Prior to Iowa Central, he coached softball for over a decade with the Fort Dodge Girls Fastpitch travel squads and assisted with the Fort Dodge Dodger Softball (5A) High school program. Tjebben is a graduate of Fort Dodge Senior High, where he was an All-State and Hall of Fame baseball player before going on to play for Iowa Central and Iowa State University.

"I am truly blessed to coach here at Iowa Central and for the constant support provided to our program," said Tjebben on being a part of Triton Athletics. "It starts at the top, with our Administration and Athletic Director who support us, and extends to our coaching staff, players and their amazing families, who collectively make up our "Triton Family", which is Iowa Central Softball."
