Ohlmeier, Sempere Collect ICCAC Athlete of the Week Honors

Trista Ohlmeier - Iowa Central - Freshman - Forward
Averaging a double-double this season, Trista Ohlmeier did not change anything this past week as she continued to score and bring in boards. Through two games, Ohlmeier scored 36 points, grabbed 23 rebounds, blocked eight shots, stole the ball six times and had three assists. Against Central, Ohlmeier helped lead a second-half comeback, finishing the game with 16 points, 11 rebounds and five blocks to seal a 71-52 win. The second game of last week was a 62-47 win over Minnesota North-Vermillion, where Ohlmeier scored 20 points, grabbed 13 boards, blocked five shots and stole the ball on three occasions.

Aleix Sempere - Iowa Central - Sophomore - Forward
Aleix Sempere was the star forward this past week, earning ICCAC Athlete of the Week. For Iowa Central, Sempere played just 22 minutes against Central and, in those limited minutes, registered a double-double with 19 points and 17 rebounds. Not only is the 6-foot-8 forward a threat on the glass, but Sempere also went 3-of-5 from the 3-point line, making it difficult to guard. Sempere has been a huge part of Iowa Central's success so far this season, averaging a double-double of 15.2 points per game and 11.2 rebounds.
