Former Triton Abby Jensen Joins Women's Soccer Staff
Abby Jensen has joined the Triton Women's Soccer staff as an assistant coach. Jensen returns to Iowa Central after playing two seasons at Kansas Wesleyan University following her time at Iowa Central. She has also played previously for Sporting Iowa. Jensen is a graduate of Indianola High School, Iowa Central, and Kansas Wesleyan University. She holds an Associate of Arts Degree from Iowa Central and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Exercise Science with a minor in Sports Management & Coaching from Kansas Wesleyan University.
"We are so excited to welcome Abby Jensen back to the soccer program. I cannot think of a better example to help lead young women," said Triton Women's Soccer Head Coach, Jordan Sibenaller. "She will make a huge impact on our program. Abby was the first player I signed as a head coach, so it is very special to have her back in this role."
While at Iowa Central, Jenson started 33 games throughout the 2022 and 2023 seasons, scoring 10 goals and recording 15 assists. She captained the 2023 squad that finished ranked in the top-ten, made a conference finals appearance, and scored the most goals in the country for NJCAA DII. She was also the Iowa Central student-body president during the 2023-2024 college year.
"It feels great to be back at Iowa Central as the Assistant Women's Soccer Coach and to be coaching alongside Coach Jordan," said Jensen. "I'm grateful to be back with the Iowa Central family and can't wait for our upcoming season!"
