The Triton Track and Field team took part in two different meets this past weekend. Friday night showcased the Triton long distance athletes at the Washington University Distance Carnival in St Louis, Missouri. The Tritons had 5 new National Qualifiers at the meet.
In the Women's 10,000 Meter Run, Iowa Central placed 4th, 5th, and 6th as Florance Uwajeneza (36:00.84), Winrose Chesang (36:03.85), and Lilian Busienei (36:38.60) all qualified for the NJCAA Outdoor National Championships with their times. They also broke into the Triton Record book as their times were the 2nd (Uwajeneza), 3rd (Chesang), and 5th (Busienei) fastest times recorded.
In the Men's 5,000 Meter run, Milos Pendic's 12th place finish of 14:53.14 was the 13th fastest time in school history. He qualified for the National Championships along with Awet Yohannes' 25th place finish of 15:02.22.

Iowa Central returns to action this weekend at the Western Kentucky Hilltopper Relays in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
