Triton Track & Field Opens Indoor Season at Hawkeye Invitational
The Iowa Central Track and Field team opened up at the Hawkeye Invite hosted by the University of Iowa this weekend. The throwing events kicked things off on Friday, January 9 ^th while the rest of the events were contested on Saturday, January 10 ^th.

Coaches Comments
"It might have been a small meet and we had only about 75% of our team with us, but we had some big results. Our throwers really set the tone with two nation leading marks. Saturday was just as great with a number of event wins, 15 national qualifiers and 11 updates to our all-time top 10 list. Haydn's throw in the 35# weight is 14 ^th best ever in the NJCAA and currently leads the nation by nearly 11 feet. It is very early yet but it was certainly a great way to kick off our season!" - Director of XC/TF, Coach Dee Brown

The multi-event athletes will travel to the Mount Marty Invitational in Yankton, SD to compete in their first heptathlons and pentathlons of the season Friday and Saturday; while the rest of the squad will be in Ames, IA for the Bill Bergan Classic hosted by Iowa State University on Friday, January 16th
