BOONE - The fourth-ranked Iowa Central volleyball team could never get on track here Thursday night, falling to No. 9 Des Moines Area in an ICCAC showdown.
Scores were 25-21, 25-20 and 25-22.
The Bears (9-2 overall, 9-2 in league) controlled throughout the night in earning their ninth consecutive win since a three-set loss to the Tritons (9-1, 8-1) in Fort Dodge last month.
DMACC built an early 12-7 advantage before Iowa Central rallied back, tying the first set at 16-all. The Bears, though, reeled off eight of the final 12 points to take a 1-0 lead.
In the second the Tritons gained their first edge of the match at 9-8. The two exchanged points before DMACC went on a 5-0 run to again gain control.
Iowa Central finally put together its first big rally, scoring six in a row to go up 11-9 in the third. The Bears responded with a 7-3 run and put the match away.
The Tritons return to action on Tuesday when they host Northeast inside Hodges Fieldhouse at 7 p.m. Iowa Central swept Northeast earlier this year in Nebraska.
