Katilyn Steffes showed plenty of resiliency throughout the season.
The Iowa Central freshman was honored by being named one of 12 players to the NJCAA Div. II Volleyball Championships all-tournament team.
Steffes was joined by Kylie Oberlin of Grand Rapids, Tyrianna Settles from Terra State, Aasia McNeill of Catawba Valley, Anna Gorsich from Kirkwood, Emma Carlson of Sauk Valley, Emma Richards of Gulf Coast State, Hannah Alvey from Illinois Central, Parkland's Halle Everett and Summerlyn Smith, and Johnson County's Shannon Riley and Sydney Healy.
Mikayla Powell of Johnson County was named the tournament MVP with Johnson County's Jennifer El winning coach of the tournament. Johnson County knocked off Parkland for the title.
Terra State earned the sportsmanship award.
Steffes, an outside hitter, had 25 kills in the third place match for the Tritons, as they topped Illinois Central for the highest finish in program history.
A native of Minnesota, Steffes also had 11 kills vs. Catawba Valley, seven vs. Parkland and six vs. Carl Sandburg, giving her 49 for the week. She finished her season with 240 kills.
Steffes also had 20 digs in the five-setter with Illinois Central and had 17 in her other three matches.
